MRI Technologist - $55 per hour

About the role

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking an MRI Technologist for a position in Fort Lee, New Jersey (with assignment in Bronx, New York). The role reports to a radiologist and involves performing MRI procedures with independent judgment. Start date is ASAP, ongoing employment, staff position.

Responsibilities

• Patient and Room Preparation: entering patient data into Epic and other appropriate computer systems; placing the patient on the scan table in the correct position for the scan; obtaining appropriate scout image for the procedure.
• Obtain cross sectional images: proper setting of protocols and sequences to obtain high quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist.
• Direct involvement during procedure: assisting the radiologist during biopsy procedures as needed; constant attention to the progression of the procedure while in the control room, monitoring progression of biopsy procedure; operating injector when necessary.
• Photographing and processing of images: photographing and labeling scan images; processing and displaying final images on viewing machines for radiologist interpretation; maintaining all necessary records of image slices, injections, etc.
• Observing all rules and regulations regarding radiation safety for patients and staff.
• Training other associates and students in MRI procedures.
• Maintaining orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area.
• Performing duties of a 4T technologist as needed.
• Performing other related assigned tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Satisfactory completion of a formal radiologic technology training program
• Experience with MRI Systems
• Experience with Radiographic film processor
• Experience with Epic tracking equipment
• NYS Registered Radiologic Technologist with Injection
• ARRT certification in MRI
• OHS Fit Test/OHS Annual Assessment

Pay

Hourly rate: $55.14 (hiring rate; may vary based on shift differential, experience, education, or other factors).

Schedule

Work shift: Day; work days: Alternate weekends; scheduled hours: 8 AM–4:30 PM (7.5 hours per day).
