Primary responsibilities
- Operate and maintain MR equipment in the cardiac MRI suite.
- Perform duties associated with preparation of patients for MRI procedures.
- Provide care to specific age categories of patients in the cardiac MRI/Radiology Department.
Requirements
- ARRT Licensure with MRI Certification preferred.
- One-year of previous RRT experience required.
- MRI experience preferred.
Professional And Technical Functions
- Operates MRI equipment to produce quality patient diagnostic images.
- Understands the physics associated with MR.
- Develops protocols with or without the assistance of the cardiologist.
- Evaluates the quality of images to minimize repeat visits due to technical errors.
- Appropriately applies various MRI coils and associated equipment.
- Performs contrast injections per protocol as necessary.
- Monitors MRI system images for any problems.
- Provides patient education pre-procedure.
- Inserts intravenous lines as ordered by physicians when necessary.
- Provides emergency medical care, i.e. CPR as indicated and or directed by the physician or nurse when necessary.
- Provides patients with necessary post procedure teaching.
Pay
The pay range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey is $58.65 per hour.
