About the role
As an MRI Tech PRN with South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers, you will be part of an organization devoted to giving back to the community. Last year, our HCA Healthcare colleagues invested over 156,000 hours volunteering in our communities.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic procedures utilizing MRI and imaging equipment.
- Perform all MRI procedures and maintain quality control in the MRI area.
- Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, including positioning, procedure preparation, and technical factors associated with MRI systems.
- Use the RIS for scheduling exams, patient tracking, film tracking, and proper completion of exams.
- Responsible for all other equipment used in MRI, such as monitoring equipment and stereotactic biopsy equipment (where applicable).
- Assess situations, consider alternatives, and choose appropriate courses of action.
- Provide care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Handle, pick up, deliver, and/or stock non-controlled medications as directed by a licensed team member.
- Support the mission and vision of South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times.
- Learn and comply with system and facility safety policies and rules; use appropriate safety equipment and procedures; report unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Adhere to the STRIC Code of Conduct and demonstrate ethical behavior as expected by patients, colleagues, and the community.
- Report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules, regulations, or the Code of Conduct.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Radiology School.
- Previous experience in an out-patient MRI role is desirable.
- Must hold a current CPR certification or obtain during the orientation period.
Qualifications
- ONE of the following within 6 months of hire date:
- American Registration of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT (MR) certification
- American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)
- Preferred: Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) Certification from Texas Department of Health
