MRI Tech (PRN)

About the Role

Performs a variety of technical diagnostic examinations associated with the operation of MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images of any designated portion of the body.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic imaging exams as ordered.
• Collects, analyzes, and interprets data within the scope of practice.
• Actively participates in the implementation of the Performance Improvement (PI) plan and completes assignments within allowed time constraints.
• Contributes to a non-discriminating, non-hostile environment and practices safety management.
• Respects hospital equipment and property, and conducts self in a calm and purposeful manner during stressful situations.
• Protects patient information and maintains confidentiality.

Requirements

• Previous MRI technologist or 2 years of radiological technologist experience preferred.
• Rad Tech license required; ARRT and LSRT licenses preferred.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, peers, and medical personnel.
• Ability to compute proper imaging techniques and contrast media administration.
• Emotional stability, resilience, adaptability to change, decisiveness, and foresight.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Required to stay in stationary positions as well as move around; ability to position oneself and/or move equipment is normally required.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of radiation.
• Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment.
• Occasionally required to transport items 20 pounds or more.
• Frequently required to move 1-20 pounds and push or pull 20 or more pounds.
• Continuous use of hands and fingers for positioning equipment.
