Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of Magnetic Resonance procedures independently in accordance with existing policies and procedures within the MRI suite.
- Completes proper and comprehensive patient screening prior to MRI examination and/or IV contrast administration.
- Affords technical quality of images before giving such to the Radiologist; performs repeats as necessary.
- Documents appropriate patient information necessary for exam interpretation and patient care.
- Able to start IV’s for contrast administration and blood draws for pre-contrast screening as needed.
- Administers intravenous contrast under the direction of the Radiologist.
- Answers questions and provides information to center customers, including nursing staff, physicians, and the general public on MR procedures, crosssectional, longitudinal and oblique imaged anatomy, and MRI physics.
- Troubleshoots technical problems and works with the vendors to resolve problems that arise.
- Maintains flexibility as department grows with a willingness to accept additional responsibilities requested by department director.
- Demonstrates age-specific competency for the following groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

Qualifications
- Must hold or obtain current licensure as a RT(R) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent.
- Must hold or obtain current licensure as an RT(R) (MR) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent within one year of hire.
- Must hold or obtain current BLS.
