Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the MRI Technologist to perform high quality diagnostic imaging services in a safe, timely, professional, confidential, personally attentive manner.
  • Properly place and maintain patent IV access for patients, as needed, using aseptic technique.
  • Aid in the overall workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments.
  • Maintain supply use and inform when needed to reorder to avoid service disruptions.
  • Promptly investigate and report for correction any service malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of service calls by company.
  • Clean unit, prepare for transport, enter PLE data, monitor account profile binders and maintenance binders on coaches, ensure they are current and complete, work with compliance to monitor annual postings and quarterly checklists.
  • Ensure patient history form is accurate, complete, and reviewed with the ROCC Technologist. Identify and investigate areas of concern to prevent patient incidents.
  • Transport patient to and from the MR suite. Properly position patient, ensuring safety and comfort. Provide proper patient communication throughout the examination according to policy and procedure.
  • Aid in clinical accreditation applications and inspections as needed.
  • Perform other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • BLS or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Venous Access Training Certification within 60 days of hire.
  • MRTA course training completion required. Training to be provided prior to initiation of patient care.
  • Understand and practice MRI safety.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and competency in the clinical area of the practice.
  • Excellent people skills, a high level of adaptability, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Some local travel across sites may be required.
  • Must have ACLS or EMT certification.
  • I.V. skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with current software packages such as Google apps, HIS/RIS, and PACS.
  • Must be able to commute to various locations.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • The employee may be exposed to a strong magnetic field.
  • More than 50% of time: sit, stand, walk.
  • Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs.
  • See, speak, and hear to be able to communicate with patients.
  • Less than 50% of time: stoop, kneel or crawl; climb and balance, carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer to an exam).
