Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of MRI. Associate’s degree or higher preferred but not required.
- Experience: Four years MRI experience. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility, and department/unit.
- Preferred: One year of leadership/supervisory or management experience.
- Required: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT. Texas Medical Board License. BLS (American Red Cross).
What you will do in this Role
Supervises assigned personnel and is responsible for effectively and efficiently staffing the imaging section(s). Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of the following equipment: power injectors, Magnetic Resonance Imaging positioning, procedures preparation and technical factors associated with MRI systems. Maintains clean, stocked inventory and equipment service records. Works with vendors to ensure optimum uptime of equipment in section(s). Schedules preventive maintenance and emergency maintenance without disrupting patient care. Ensures efficient workflow in the section by getting patients started on time and keeping room turnaround time to a minimum. Organizes work in such a way that the structure responds quickly to changes in workload.
Additional Job Roles
- May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents and other non-controlled medications as appropriate to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- May be called upon to physically witness and/or inventory controlled substances with another authorized individual.
- Will integrate current scientific knowledge and technology into their work practices, play an active role in the orientation and training of new employees and students, and participate in continuing education provided to the department during work hours.
