Responsibilities
- Operates equipment and technology safely and properly.
- Reports problems or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Confirms that the correct patient ID and annotations are correct on all Imaging studies.
- Confirms orders with requisitions and completes pre-screening questionnaires with patients.
- Provides educational information to the patient regarding their examination or procedure.
- Ensures pertinent forms are complete for procedures.
- Ensures orders and charges are correct.
- Maintains, cleans, and restocks the assigned room.
- Notifies the on-duty Technologist of unavailable supplies or malfunctioning equipment.
- Works at such a pace and demonstrates organizational skills as to ensure no backlogs of work or undue delays in patient flow.
- Demonstrates a willingness to assist wherever needed and has an understanding that shifts may have to be altered due to workload or staffing upon the supervisor’s discretion at any time.
- Completes continuing education and in-service programs to meet regulatory and job requirements.
- Actively participates in staff meetings and on committees as requested.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
- Exhibits knowledge and basic understanding regarding the needs of neonatal, adolescent, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients, and the cultural needs of all patients.
- Routinely uses PPE to avoid risk of exposure to self and others.
Qualifications
- Completion of two years of formal Radiologic Technology training in a school approved by the Council of Education of the American Medical Association.
- Current enrollment in a formal Radiologic Technology CT or MRI training program in a school approved by the Council of Education of the American Medical Association.
- BLS certification.
