MPT Assistant Producer

Main Purpose of Job

This opening is for an Assistant Producer for the Content Department of Maryland Public Television. This position will assist with research, media management, release forms, maintaining and creating social media, scheduling, and other production areas as needed. The Assistant Producer will also have opportunities to assist Producers on location.

POSITION DUTIES

• Aid in coordinating shoots
• Assist producers on location
• Aid with post-production and scheduling
• Organize footage and release forms
• Image and archival research
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism, media or related field
• Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience in media production

Desired Or Preferred Qualifications

• Strong preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualifications:
• The successful candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills
• Knowledge of non-linear editing systems, including AVID and Premiere Pro
