MPI Driver - Shipping Associate

About the role

The primary responsibility of the MPI Driver/Shipping Associate is operating a 3/4-ton pickup with a flatbed trailer to execute local pickups and deliveries, keeping the supply chain moving for our customers. Depending on customer demands and production schedules, this position also supports the shipping floor by running machines, picking and tagging orders, securing shipments, and performing basic facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Logistics & Driving
  • Operate a 3/4-ton pickup truck with a flatbed to make local deliveries and pickups (typically within a 2-hour radius).
  • Execute the pickup, receipt, verification, loading, and delivery of equipment and materials required for each job.
  • Properly complete all required paperwork associated with each delivery and pickup.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and professional presentation of the assigned company vehicle.
• Warehouse & Shipping Support
  • Assist the Shipping Lead by picking, tagging, and securely preparing shipments.
  • Operate shop machinery and perform simple facility maintenance (e.g., sweeping) as needed to support the shop floor.
• Customer Service & Operations
  • Establish and demonstrate effective working relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction at all times.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to changing work schedules and assignments based on departmental and organizational needs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain a DOT Physical.
• Clean driving record.
• Must be able to complete a background check and pass a pre-employment drug test prior to starting.

Skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of DOT shipping requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• CDL (nice to have but not necessary).

Physical Requirements

• May be required to lift and/or move 30 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to: hot, cold, dusty, muddy, slippery, and wet conditions depending on the time of the year.
