Mowing Crew Member

Position Overview

The Mowing Crew Member is a full-time, production role in the Mowing department.

About the Role

Primary duties include mowing, trimming, edging turf areas and blowing off hard surfaces/structures. Adhere to quality and safety standards. Demonstrate willingness to learn how to operate equipment and tools needed to perform daily tasks. Effectively communicate with supervisor and crew mates. Accurately record hours worked. Winter snow/ice removal. Other duties as assigned.

• Demonstrate willingness to learn new equipment
• Communicate with supervisor and crew mates
• Accurately record hours worked
• Winter snow/ice removal
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to be added to the company’s auto insurance policy
• High school diploma or GED
• Mowing experience preferred
• Ability to acquire pesticide applicator’s commercial certification within 45 days of hire
• Demonstrated ability to process and follow instructions
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team
• Ability to learn how to use tools and equipment meeting operational safety standards
• Demonstrated ability to understand and carry out oral instructions
• Regular and prompt attendance required
• Available for extended hours during snow events, mandatory overtime

Qualifications

• Physical demands: Regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day. Must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs. Push/pull force up to 75 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Work environment: Outside in all types of weather conditions, including occasional extreme heat exposure. Noise level can be loud; vibration levels are moderate.
