Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks at the loading dock of our temperature-controlled facility, ensuring the safety of items and safe storage
• General cleanup of the facility, grounds, and vehicles
• Maintain an efficient, professional demeanor at all times
• Receive and follow detailed instructions
• Follow a work schedule and arrive on time ready to work
• Vertically transfer boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. from 1" to 36", up to 8 times per hour with assistance
• Vertically/horizontally transfer pieces of furniture (e.g., armoire, dresser) weighing up to 75 lbs. from 5" to 30", up to 2 times per hour, a distance of up to 25 feet with mechanical assistance
• Transfer pieces of furniture and personal items weighing up to 30 lbs. from 1" to 36", up to 15 times per hour, a distance of up to 25 feet without mechanical assistance
• Use a dolly to load/unload bigger furniture, horizontally transferring up to 53 lbs. up to 2 times per hour, a distance of 25 feet with assistance
• Use a step ladder (12" rungs, 5 steps) to load/unload while in the trailer
• Access areas through conventional doorways and loading docks
• Pad and un-pad furniture after training

Requirements

• Professionalism and customer service skills
• Consistent attendance
• Able to pass a criminal background check, physical, and drug test
• Moving experience preferred
• No night work required; Saturday work available

Physical Requirements

• Tolerance of standing posture up to 1 hour continuously, for a total of up to 8 hours per 12-hour shift
• Tolerance of working environments with inside controlled temperatures (indoors) and ambient temperatures (in the trailer at a loading dock)
• Near, far, and depth vision required for tasks including moving boxes and furniture
• Walking up to 1 mile in a day over an 8-hour period
• Should not be classified as an HHG Mover as a new hire; position is for Warehouse summer help or Apprentice
