New World Van Lines, established in 1919, is hiring experienced household-goods drivers, movers, and crew nationwide. We specialize in corporate moves with industry-leading pay, paid weekly.

About the Role

Mover Apprentices are responsible for loading and unloading trucks at our temperature-controlled facility, ensuring the safety of items and proper storage. General cleanup of the facility, grounds, and vehicles is also required. All employees must maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

This position is initially focused on warehouse work. If selected for traveling to residences, job performance will be reviewed at that time.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks at the loading dock.
  • Ensure safe storage of household goods and personal items.
  • Perform general cleanup of the facility, grounds, and vehicles.
  • Maintain a professional and efficient demeanor.
  • Vertically transfer boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. from 1" to 36", up to 8 times per hour with assistance.
  • Transfer pieces of furniture (e.g., armoire, dresser) weighing up to 75 lbs. from 5" to 30", up to 2 times per hour, a distance of up to 25 feet with mechanical assistance.
  • Transfer personal items weighing up to 30 lbs. from 1" to 36", up to 15 times per hour, a distance of up to 25 feet without mechanical assistance.
  • Use a dolly to load/unload larger furniture, requiring a force up to 53 lbs., up to 2 times per hour, a distance of 25 feet with assistance.
  • Use a step ladder (12" rungs, 5 steps) to load/unload while in the trailer.
  • Access areas through conventional doorways and loading docks.
  • Stand for up to 1 hour continuously, totaling up to 8 hours in a 12-hour period.
  • Tolerate controlled indoor temperatures and ambient temperatures in trailers at loading docks.
  • Walk up to 1 mile per day over an 8-hour period.
  • Pad and un-pad furniture after training.

Requirements

  • Professionalism and strong customer service skills.
  • Consistent attendance and ability to follow a work schedule.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, physical, and drug test.
  • Moving experience preferred but not required.
  • No night work required; Saturday work available.
  • Must be able to receive and follow detailed instructions.
  • Near/far/depth vision required for tasks such as moving boxes and furniture.
