Mountain Pacific Geomatics Regional Manager
About the role
The Geomatics Regional Manager will oversee project management for geospatial surveys in the Albuquerque, New Mexico office. Responsibilities include managing multi-discipline projects, client relations, staff training, and project scoping meetings.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Southwest Geomatics Regional Manager
- Work with other team members in conventional surveys, aerial/UAS surveys, Terrestrial scanning, and Mobile LiDAR projects
- Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and maintain open communication between the field, office, and clients
- Manage multi-discipline projects
- Staff training and management
- Perform project scoping meetings and project kick-off meetings as needed
- Assist with review of digital models and mapping of LiDAR and other types of traditional survey projects
- Assist with quality control review of deliverables
- Report on status of vehicles, survey and safety equipment
- Assist with Mobile LiDAR processing and Mobile LiDAR processing training utilizing Riegl software’s
- Prepare Mobile LiDAR panel/control plans
- Prepare strategic business plans
- Prepare yearly operating budgets
- Prepare subconsultant agreements
- Aid in the selection of conventional/MBE/SBE/DBE survey firms to establish project control, topographic surveys, easement exhibits, survey plats, etc...
- Perform business development of the survey group to pursue strategic opportunities, cultivate new partnerships, and identify new markets
- Prepare scope and fee documents for survey projects
- Conduct meetings and phone calls with key personnel and officials of organizations and companies
- Observe and comply with all company and related safety rules to provide professional survey assistance that accounts for accurate survey data, and determines conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, boundaries, and construction specifications
- Prepare survey reports
- Collaborate with other professionals, engineers, scientists, project control, and technicians on assigned survey tasks
- Ensure that both you and your personnel comply daily with WSP and client specific safety guidelines and provide required safety documentation and records
- Engage in occasional contact with client personnel to schedule and coordinate project survey activities
- Remain current in latest survey knowledge, techniques, and practices
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Build Geomatics team within the Southwest Region
- Manage Southwest Region Geomatics Group
- Business Development for new clientele
- Invoice and bill clients for work performed
- Oversee operations of Geospatial Group in New Mexico
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, GIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 12+ years surveying experience
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a diverse team
- A working knowledge of surveying mathematics, land surveying practices and procedures
- Staffing management experience
- Preparation of work plans, maintaining schedules and budgets, managing resources, preparing and reviewing base maps and other deliverables, working with clients and quality control
- Proven leadership, team building, and collaborations skills, including a proven track record for meeting established project and business goals
- Experience in Bentley software
- Experience in Riegl Software
- Excellent communication skills
- Overall knowledge of conducting field operations
- Understanding of office operations
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Experience with project management and project scheduling
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Experience with TopoDot, TerraSolid software’s
- Experience with Leica Infinity software
- Must be able to work within team environment and collaborate with others
- Competent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening, including a valid Driver's license
- Able to work occasional overtime as per project
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree is preferred
- Bentley MicroStation Experience
- Riegl Software (RiProcess, RiPrecision, RiAcquire)
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Pay
Expected Salary (all locations): $163,900 - $250,000
Expected Salary (Colorado only): $163,900 - $250,000
