Motor Vehicle Mechanic
Responsibilities
- Completion of vehicle inspections
- Performing necessary periodic maintenance on various types of vehicles
- Installing or setting up test equipment as required
- Performing fueling and de-fueling of vehicles
- Driving light and medium duty vehicles for vehicle delivery/pick-up and testing
- Providing vehicle preparation and driving tests in support of exhaust gas emissions testing
- Removing, rebuilding, and installing heavy duty engines as needed
- Performing welding, fabrication, or modifications to vehicle components as needed
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- DOT Health Card
- Homeland Federal Site Security Clearance
- Minimum of 6 years experience in vehicle inspection/maintenance/testing of vehicles and/or engines
- Familiarity with current vehicle emission control systems
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to be bonded as a notary public
- Valid driver’s license (manual transmission vehicles)
Qualifications
- State or ASE Master Mechanic Certification
- Metal fabrication and/or welding experience (desirable)
