Motor Development Specialist
About the role
The Motor Development Specialist position at Merakey is a program position that supports individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This role implements gross motor and sensory motor skills provided by the Occupational Therapist (OT) and Physical Therapist (PT), and provides ongoing training and monitoring for staff.
Responsibilities
- Implement gross motor and sensory motor skills provided by the OT and PT
- Provide ongoing training and monitoring for staff in areas such as feeding textures, mealtime procedures, lifting, transfers, wheelchair usage, mobility, and splinting procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: Experience
- Position requires a high degree of flexibility, leadership, and organizational skills
- Valid and current Driver's License
