About the role
This role is within the Brand & Design team at Basis, a leading provider of cutting-edge software for digital media operations. The successful candidate will own motion design across various platforms, ensuring that Basis's brand is consistently represented in a visually compelling and effective manner.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex ideas into powerful visual stories using After Effects, Premiere Pro, and other relevant tools.
- Create product demos, instructional videos, campaign videos, and social cuts that simplify SaaS workflows through motion graphics and clear visual storytelling.
- Design UI and product animations for web, including micro-interactions, transitions, and storytelling moments using Figma and Lottie.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project stakeholders, brand, product, and growth teams to ensure alignment with marketing goals and client needs.
- Contribute to Basis's motion standards, maintaining consistency across deliverables while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Owning project workload and timelines, communicating progress and priorities clearly, and staying updated on motion trends and emerging best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in motion design, animation, or video production.
- A strong portfolio showcasing motion work across multiple formats.
- Expertise in After Effects and Premiere Pro, with fluency in Illustrator and Photoshop.
- A deep understanding of motion principles, pacing, and visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with front-end web technologies and integrating motion into live environments.
- Proven experience creating Lottie animations optimized for web performance.
- Experience documenting workflows and training others on tools and best practices.
- Comfortable in creative conversations, asking the right questions, and managing multiple projects independently.
- Strong collaboration skills, able to communicate clearly and partner well across teams.
- Open to operating a camera and mic for event coverage, and curious about AI-first tools and emerging best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- $72,415 - $100,000 annual salary range.
Skills
- After Effects and Premiere Pro.
- Illustrator and Photoshop.

- Front-end web technologies.
- Understanding of motion principles and visual storytelling.
- Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, Maxon Autograph, and Cavalry.

$72,415 - $100,000 annually.
