About the role
Remote position with some in-person events. Reports to National Organizing Director.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a West Coast organizing team to advance state and local campaigns that reduce children’s exposure to harmful media content
- Recruit, train, and support parent leaders and volunteers across California, Oregon, and Washington
- Develop and execute campaign plans, including grassroots lobbying, public education, and direct action
- Coordinate with national staff on strategy, messaging, and digital organizing tools
- Organize in-person events, town halls, and lobby days in key cities
- Track and report on campaign progress and team metrics
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of community organizing or campaign experience, preferably in a leadership role
- Experience working on media policy, public health, or child advocacy issues
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, and public-speaking skills
- Ability to travel within the West Coast region for events and meetings
- Familiarity with California, Oregon, and Washington political landscapes
- Commitment to the mission of reducing children’s exposure to harmful media
