About the Role
The Mortgage Loan Officer - Retail position provides exceptional customer service to each customer at all times. Responsibilities include developing mortgage loan business through internal and external referral sources and building and maintaining business relationships within the community.
Responsibilities
- Develops new and expands internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage business.
- Uses consultative selling techniques to advise clients on mortgage loan options and other financial products.
- Provides excellent customer service from approval through closing, working closely with loan origination sources to secure and verify all information required for underwriting.
- Maintains client relationships.
- Advises customers on the completion of loan applications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One or more years of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably at a bank.
- NMLS license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pipeline and book of business.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Knowledge of mortgage loan products (conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio programs).
- Knowledge of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to cross-sell financial products and services.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Proficient PC and Internet skills.
Schedule
This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime pay. Certain positions may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement, combining in-office and work-from-home opportunities.
Pay
The compensation range for this position is $10.00-$11.54 hourly (non-recoverable draw, reconciled against earned incentive compensation). Actual compensation will vary based on factors including location, experience, and education.
