About the role
We’re looking for a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) in Longmont to help establish and grow our new service center. This individual will be instrumental in building relationships and driving expansion across Longmont and Boulder County. The role involves assisting Wings members and potential members in identifying and securing mortgage loans that align with their financial goals, including home ownership.
Responsibilities
- Develop external Realtor and business development contacts through events, shows, seminars, education, and committees.
- Take mortgage applications and review initial findings and decisions.
- Analyze asset, income, and Desktop Underwriter (DU) required data independently.
- Collect data and appraisal fees.
- Pursue continuing education in mortgage products and regulations.
- Refer members to other Wings departments (e.g., EIS, CRE).
- Adhere to Wings policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1+ years of mortgage industry origination or mortgage sales experience (5+ years preferred, with 2+ years in mortgage sales origination).
- Detailed understanding of FNMA, CHFA, FHA, and VA products and underwriting requirements.
- Knowledge of non-profit down payment programs available to members.
- Proficiency with Desktop Underwriter (DU).
- Strong technical skills, including PC, Excel, database software, and web knowledge.
- Strong external sales and networking skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Qualifications
- NMLS Registration in good standing (required).
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (required).
Pay
$66,000 base salary + uncapped commissions, plus a 3% annual target bonus.
