About the Role
This full-time Mortgage Loan Officer role is based in Phoenix, AZ and follows a hybrid work model, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility. The Mortgage Loan Officer will originate and manage residential mortgage loan applications, guiding members through the loan process from initial inquiry to closing.
Responsibilities
- Assess borrowers’ financial profiles and explain loan products and terms.
- Collect and verify documentation required for loan applications.
- Coordinate with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure smooth loan processing.
- Provide responsive, empathetic customer service and address member questions.
- Ensure compliance with lending regulations and Navy Federal policies.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal partners and external referral sources to support loan volume and member satisfaction.
- Manage multiple loan files simultaneously and meet production and quality goals.
Requirements
- Experience in Loan Officer roles with a strong focus on member guidance and ethical lending practices.
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry and lending processes, including conventional, VA, and other mortgage products.
- Familiarity with underwriting principles and documentation requirements.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant licenses or registrations as required for mortgage loan origination in Arizona.
- Familiarity with federal and state lending regulations.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems, basic financial analysis, and standard office software.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is beneficial.
