Mortgage Loan Officer

Join The Merrimack as a Mortgage Loan Officer serving Southern New Hampshire. We are hiring two full-time professionals based out of our Hooksett or Windham branch locations.

About the role

In this customer-focused position, you will originate residential mortgage and home equity loans, guide borrowers through the lending process, and develop referral relationships within the community.

Responsibilities

• Originate residential mortgage and home equity loans in accordance with bank procedures, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements
• Assist new and existing customers by phone and in person, identifying financing solutions that align with their needs
• Review borrower documentation, including income, assets, tax returns, and credit information, to support loan qualification
• Manage loan files from application through closing, resolving documentation issues and helping ensure a smooth process
• Build and maintain referral relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and community partners
• Promote additional bank products and refer customers to internal partners when appropriate
• Participate in business development activities, training programs, and community events

Requirements

• Three to five years of banking experience with strong knowledge of residential mortgage lending products, systems, and regulations
• NMLS registration required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sales, relationship-building, and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal partners
• Technical proficiency with mortgage lending and servicing systems
