Fortera Credit Union is seeking a driven Mortgage Loan Officer to help members achieve homeownership across our growing markets in Clarksville, Nashville, and southern Kentucky. In this role, you will build your own client pipeline, form lasting relationships with local Realtors and builders, and guide members through every step of the loan process. What You'll Do
- Generate new mortgage loan business and manage an existing client pipeline for the Credit Union
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with Realtors, builders, and other referral partners
- Conduct initial applicant interviews and structure loans, then guide each loan through processing as the member's point of contact for a seamless experience
- Serve as the mortgage product resource for assigned branches, supporting staff with questions, applications, and referrals
- Stay current on lending standards, legal requirements, and trends in the local real estate and lending market
- Complete all required compliance training and follow applicable regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance
- Represent the Credit Union at community and civic events
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
What You'll Need
- At least 1 year of mortgage loan origination experience required; 3–5 years preferred
- Associate degree in Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- State Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months (sponsored by the Credit Union)
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation with current insurance
- Working knowledge of industry-standard mortgage products, documentation, processing, and underwriting guidelines
- Strong interpersonal, public relations, and written/oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain an efficient workflow
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude
- Availability to work at any Credit Union location, including occasional extended hours, holidays, or Saturdays
- Reliable, predictable attendance
