About the role
As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will produce mortgage loan originations through developing realtor referrals, branch referrals, personal established book of business, and referrals from 1st National Bank’s existing relationships.
Responsibilities
- Develop individual relationships with realtors and inform real estate offices of current products, programs, and interest rates.
- Work with Business Development Officers to make calls on business partners outside of the bank offices and establish contacts for promoting mortgage services.
- Participate in Realtor groups and other community-related activities.
- Inform clients of available mortgage loan programs and prepare them to bring required documentation to the application.
- Interview and pre-qualify clients for mortgage loans according to established guidelines for various programs.
- Enter complete, accurate applications on mortgage software, pull credit information, reconcile all liabilities with the customer, send accurate information to underwriting and processing, and obtain all required documentation.
- Comply with all applicable regulations and disclosures associated with mortgage applications.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients and notify them of approval or denial of mortgage loan requests.
- Cross-sell other bank products.
- Assume additional duties as directed by the Executive Vice President of Mortgage Lending.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage loan origination with established partnerships (Realtors, Builders, etc.).
- Active NMLS license.
- Extensive experience with Conventional, JUMBO, Construction, FHA, VA, USDA, Portfolio, and Equity lines.
- Professional image and demeanor when representing 1st National Bank.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with individuals at different levels.
- Computer literacy (Windows environment, MortgageBot, Encompass, etc.) and strong data entry skills.
- Familiarity with secondary market underwriting guidelines.
- Proven track record as a leader in the mortgage industry with a consistent and stellar sales history.
- Strong mathematical and computation ability.
- High school diploma (GED) or equivalent skills and abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of bank products and services.
- Accountability for completing accurate applications and complying with all applicable regulations.
- Compliance with underwriting guidelines for mortgage programs.
- Ability to meet mortgage production and sales goals established by leadership.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience with Fair Housing Regulations (Required).
- 2 years of loan origination experience (Required).

Pay
Salary: $50,000.00 to $200,000.00 per year. Additional incentives include President’s Club and Quarterly rewards.
