Mortgage Field Services Inspector

About the role

HERE OnlyFAR Inspections is seeking independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
• Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

Requirements

• Computer with an internet connection
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas)
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone)
• Printer
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license

Pay and Hours

• This is a 1099 position.
• Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume.
• Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $20-$30 per hour.
• Depending on a county and if it is urban or rural, you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month working 2-30 hours per week.
• Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates.
• There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
• Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory.
• No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
