Mortgage Field Services Inspector

About the role

FAR Inspections is seeking experienced independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Complete inspections within 4 days after assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Fill out a short form in an app.
• Drive for extended periods, making multiple stops throughout the day.

Requirements

• Computer with internet access.
• Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage (optional).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.

Pay and Hours

• This is a 1099 position.
• Each inspection has a flat rate, which varies based on county and volume.
• Earn $20-$30 per hour depending on volume and location.
• Work 2-30 hours per week, with a range of 20-500 inspections per month.
• No additional mileage reimbursement.
