About the role
FAR Inspections is seeking independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
- Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
- Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
- Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
- Complete a short form in an app.
- Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
Requirements
- Computer with an internet connection
- Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus)
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone)
- Printer
- Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license
Pay and Hours
- This is a 1099 position.
- Each inspection has a flat rate, which varies based on county and volume.
- You will earn the equivalent of $20-$30 per hour.
- Depending on a county and if it is urban or rural, you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month, working 2-30 hours per week.
- Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates.
- There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
- Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory.
- No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
