Mortg Originator

Responsibilities

• Create new customer relationships.
• Develop realtor and contractor referral network.
• Engage away from the employer’s place of business to respond to walk-ins and phone requests.
• Review loan applications to ensure proper documentation.
• Monitor and update loan applications daily, copy loan documents, and prepare status reports.
• Make efforts to cross-sell bank products and in-house loans.
• Accurately and timely prepare and deliver early disclosures for approved loan applications.
• Pricing loans at appropriate rates.
• Review and follow up on loan declinations with underwriters.

Requirements

• Knowledge of FNMA, FHA, VA, and NIFA guidelines.
• Understanding of the underwriting process.
• Knowledge of the secondary market and agency loan products and guidelines.
• Bank policies and procedures knowledge.
• Effective communication skills.
• High typing speed and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and function as a team player.
• Selling mortgage and bank products ability.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of previous mortgage loan originating experience required.

Physical Requirements

• Seated most of the time, occasional standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, fingering, grasping, and feeling.

Physical Dimensions

• Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a moderate amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Job involves sitting most of the time and if walking and standing is required, only occasionally.
