Morning Pet Sitter
About the role
Pets Are Family Pet Sitting Services LLC is seeking supportive and friendly early risers to join our team. Morning pet sitters provide reliable, timely, loving care to pets while clients are traveling. The ideal candidate loves working with animals, enjoys both cats and dogs, and is available for flexible morning hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide feeding, walking, companionship, and playtime for pets
- Monitor pets' behavior and health and report any concerns to the supervisor
- Perform basic home care tasks such as plant watering and mail pickup
- Work with dogs for 30-60 minutes between 7-9 am
- Visit cats once daily for 15 or 30 minutes
- Work with rabbits, birds, reptiles, and more upon certification
- Work additional hours during other parts of the day if desired
Requirements
- Loves working with animals and is passionate about their welfare
- Comfortable feeding, walking, and playing with pets according to their needs
- Able to monitor pets' behavior and health and report concerns
- Can commit to 6 months of employment
- Available for at least 2 weekends a month
- Able to work on major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- Strong communication skills and excellent customer service
- Able to document daily activities and report unusual behavior or incidents
- Has a reliable car and lives within 5 miles of the work location
- Has a reliable smartphone for company software and photo documentation
- Passes a criminal and vehicle background check
- At least 18 years old and high school graduate
Qualifications
- Large dog handling experience (1 year preferred)
- Cat care experience (preferred)

Pay and Schedule
Trained and certified Pet Sitters are paid by the visit (commission) which averages $18-24/hr. with tips and holiday bonus pay per visit. Employees receive ongoing, paid professional development and training.
