Morning or Afternoon Assistant Teacher Position

The Goddard School located in Marshallton (West Chester) is seeking two motivated and caring assistant teachers to work in the morning or afternoon.

Schedule

• Afternoon shift: approximately 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM, 4 or 5 days per week
• Morning shift: approximately 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM, 4 or 5 days per week
• No nights, weekends, or holidays
• Flexibility to open or close several days a week

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Prepare and clean up classroom materials; ensure safety and cleanliness
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children
• Assist in communicating with parents about their child’s progress and activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines
• Support routine child care tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment

Requirements

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children
• Works productively without supervision
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
