About the Role

This opportunity is different from typical cable technician jobs. We're looking for a Cable Technician who wants to expand their skillset beyond running CAT5 and CAT6. You'll gain exposure to networking, IP cameras, access control systems, troubleshooting, and technology infrastructure that keeps entire facilities connected and secure.

Instead of working on a single construction project or repetitive cable installation job, you'll support a wide variety of technology systems and infrastructure, including:

• Testing and troubleshooting network drops
• Tracking down connectivity issues
• Supporting camera system upgrades
• Assisting with access control installations
• Working inside network closets
• Tracing cable runs and documenting infrastructure

This role provides exposure to multiple areas of technology, making it an excellent next step for cable technicians who want to continue growing their careers.

Responsibilities

• Pulling, patching, terminating, and testing CAT5/CAT6 cabling
• Troubleshooting structured cabling and connectivity issues
• Working with faceplate assignments, cable drawings, and network closet layouts
• Using cable testers, toners, and diagnostic tools
• Supporting IP camera installations and maintenance
• Assisting with access control systems
• Performing preventative maintenance on technology infrastructure
• Supporting network-connected devices and equipment
• Documenting work and maintaining installation standards

Requirements

• Experience pulling, terminating, patching, and testing CAT5/CAT6 cable
• Ability to troubleshoot cabling issues from end to end
• Experience working in network closets
• Comfortable using computers and basic networking tools
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.50 - $30.00/hr.
