About the role
The Garden Teacher will lead Montgomery Elementary School's school garden program and engage students in hands-on learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement garden-based educational programs that align with the school curriculum and student needs.
- Manage the school garden, including planting, tending, harvesting, and composting.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate garden activities into classroom lessons.
- Provide guidance and support to students in their gardening projects and outdoor explorations.
- Ensure safety and proper care of all garden-related equipment and facilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Education, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience teaching in a K-8 setting.
- Experience in gardening and horticulture.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
