Montessori Director

About the Role

We’re hiring immediately for a Montessori Director at Smaller Scholars Montessori Academy in Houston, TX, part of the Cadence Education family. Responsibilities

• Ensure successful implementation of approved preschool curriculum by providing and maintaining quality educational programs.
• Maintain compliance with accreditation, state licensing requirements, and all applicable state and federal laws, as well as preschool policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of national and state education standards, exceeding these standards in school operations.
• Practice effective counseling and advising of students and parents while fostering a safe learning environment.
• Emphasize student achievement and create an environment that nurtures children’s development and well-being.
• Utilize effective communication protocols and team processes to advance learning outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, organized environment that meets the high-quality standards of Cadence Education.
• Participate in marketing events, campaigns, and community relations.
• Uphold company standards by modeling professional leadership, management, and instructional skills.
• Communicate preschool standards, guidelines, and policies clearly to all staff and emphasize their importance.
• Train a staff of 20-40, oversee performance appraisals, and supervise the development of individualized goals for staff’s professional growth.
• Recruit and hire new staff.
• Analyze financial profit and loss results, customer satisfaction measures, and other key performance data to make informed decisions.
• Manage the preschool to achieve and exceed planned financial and enrollment targets.
• Review and operate the budget while seeking ways to reduce expenses without sacrificing quality or service.
• Interact externally with current and prospective parents, external curriculum activities, and vendors.

Requirements

• Proven leadership experience at an early childhood facility with multiple classrooms and programs.
• Compliance with state licensing standards at a director level, including criminal background screening and fingerprinting.
• Montessori training required.
• Minimum requirement of education/experience within one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university combined with 6+ months of experience in the group care of children, or
  • Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, or
  • Associate degree or equivalent combined with 1+ year in a supervisory position and 2+ years of experience in the group care of children.
• Comprehensive knowledge of national and state education standards, licensing requirements, and procedures, as well as fire, health, and OSHA regulations.
• Strong knowledge of USDA Nutritional Standards for Schools.
• Must be at least 21 years old and meet corporate driving requirements.
• Valid Driver’s License with a driving record that meets company standards.
