Montana - Regional Psychiatrist

Duties/Responsibilities

• Carry out psychiatric evaluations and assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Manage medications, including evaluating their effectiveness and side effects, and adjust dosages as needed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and diagnosis codes.
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals such as therapists, psychologists, and social workers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Attend treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and coordinate care.
• Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to stay updated on the latest practices and research in psychiatry.

Requirements

• Completion of a residency training program in psychiatry and at least two years of post-residency experience as a psychiatrist in a psychiatric facility.
• An M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
• Licensure as a physician in the applicable state, including being able to prescribe controlled substances.
• A valid state driver’s license may be required.

• Experience in hospital and clinic settings, including organizational, management, and procedural knowledge.
• Ability to diagnose and treat severely and persistently mentally ill patients.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Objectivity and confidentiality in handling patient information.
