About the role
The LDAR Technician III is a senior level technical position primarily responsible for daily Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) component monitoring activities at customer work sites required to comply with Federal, State and/or local fugitive air emission regulations in addition to other applicable site specific LDAR related and AEM Technician III Qualified Tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform all work in a safe manner and with 100% integrity.
- Able to calibrate analyzer according to EPA Method 21 and maintain complete and accurate records of all calibrations.
- Physically identify leaking components by attaching a weatherproof tag containing leak data and mark leak locations on components with site specific approved method.
- Provide detailed, accurate, field notes for leaks, inventory questions, OELs, routing changes.
- Participate in customer requested odor investigations and maintenance sweeps.
- Communicate ideas for improving operations surrounding the project to the supervisor.
- Act as a mentor to Technician I and Technician II positions.
Requirements
- Complete ATG pre-employment physical exam, drug, and alcohol screening.
- Pass any/all site-required drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Complete and pass all regional specific training programs associated by local or state agencies (e.g., Los Angeles County Refinery Safety Overview training program).
- Where applicable, Complete Transportation Working Identification Credential (TWIC) program followed by verification via a TWIC card.
- Complete ATG LDAR New Hire Training.
- Have Passed ATG LDAR 180-day Regulatory Knowledge Test.
- Have Passed ATG LDAR Technician II Test.
- Have Passed ATG MOC/P&ID component identification Test.
- Have Passed ATG tests for Qualifying Technician III tasks specific to job site requirements.
- Have Passed ATG LDAR Regulatory Knowledge Test.
- Complete training on ATG SOP manual and Health & Safety Management System.
- Complete site-specific training programs, and thorough overview of all site-specific rules, policies, and requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Greater than 2 years relevant LDAR experience or have met all minimal Tech 3 requirements.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to withstand prolong walking and standing and work on elevated surfaces.
- Ability to be organized and work in a systematic and efficient manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English.
- Basic computer knowledge, Microsoft Word and Excel, email skills.
- Ability to take direction and carry out tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work well with others in a group setting.
- Basic mechanical abilities.
