Monitor Technician - Part time, nights - Mercy Jefferson

About the role

The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Works cooperatively as part of a team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Responsibilities

• On-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors
• Immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms
• Determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances
• Work cooperatively as part of a team
• Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma, G.E.D., and/or current Mercy coworker
• Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam
• Basic computer skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential
• Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must
• Preferred: Experience preferred but not mandatory. CRAT certification preferred
