Monitor Technician - Full Time Nights

About the role

Kindred Hospital Paramount and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is a 177-bed facility with 159 long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) beds. The ARU is designed for individuals who have experienced debilitating effects from acute injuries, impairments, or illnesses and require extended recovery care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate records of telemetry patients.
• Makes immediate notifications to RNs or supervisors of any detected abnormal variations in heart rhythms.
• Assigns transmitters and wires and sets up the monitor system for all telemetry ordered patients.
• Troubleshoots transmitters and wires and sets up the monitor system for all telemetry ordered patients.
• Observes screen of cardiac monitors and listens for alarms to identify abnormal variations in heart rhythms.
• Removes and cleans telemetry boxes when patients are discharged from telemetry.
• Stays informed about federal, state, and local regulations for food safety and sanitation.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Satisfactory score on EKG interpretation competency test.
• Ability to accurately identify cardiac rhythms and understand their significance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
• Current BLS certification.
• EKG certification preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to accurately identify cardiac rhythms and understand their significance.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $17.85 - $22.64 per hour.
