Monitor Technician Part Time DAYS
About the Role
As the Telemetry Tech at Ogden Regional Medical Center, you will continuously monitor the ECG patterns of all telemetry patients. In conjunction with the RN, you will evaluate ECG rhythms, including alterations in intervals, and alert the RN to changes or life-threatening alterations in monitored patients, considering the age of the patients. Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively perform cardiac monitoring.
- Document all care and obtained information accurately in the medical record.
- Continually monitor the ECG status of patients and contribute data for patient assessment, ensuring age-specific standards are applied.
- Direct the flow of the patient's medical record, including assembling upon admission, verifying face sheets and patient labels, and placing rhythm strips in the chart according to ICU policy.
- Interact with families in a warm and sincere manner to gather information or note concerns.
- Act professionally, especially under pressure.
- Accurately measure, diagnose, and post ECG rhythm strips.
- Value your role as a team member and work effectively to achieve team, department, and hospital goals.
Requirements
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification required.
- Successful completion of a basic arrhythmia interpretation course, including passing an EKG interpretation test prior to starting the position, required.
- EMT, paramedic, or 1 year of experience as a CNA in a critical care nursing environment preferred.
- Basic Arrhythmia Recognition must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
