Responsibilities
- Maintains cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
- Facilitates communication needs of the department.
- Transcribes physician orders when CPOE and EMR are not available.
- Verifies lab and radiology test orders and ensures they are completed.
- Prepares and complies patient records in the ICU.
- Orders and prepares supplies for the unit.
- Completes necessary forms for each patient daily.
- Absorbs indirect patient care duties under RN supervision, with conditions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintained.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained.
- Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician preferred.
