Monitor Tech Med/Surg Acute

Responsibilities

• Maintains cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
• Makes sure to meet the communication needs of the department.
• Transcribes physician orders when CPOE and EMR are not available.
• Verifies that lab tests and radiology tests have been ordered and completed.
• Prepares and compiles patient records in Med/ Surg/ Telemetry.
• Orders supplies for the unit and ensures necessary forms are completed daily.
• Absorbs direct patient care duties under RN supervision if certified CNA and meets competency requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or related work experience.
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire.
• Six months of previous healthcare or monitor technician experience.
