Responsibilities
- Selects, sets up, calibrates, and adjusts telemetry monitoring equipment in accordance with physician orders.
- Ensures proper functioning of equipment; troubleshoots problems as identified.
- Collects, transmits, and documents pertinent patient data to the Registered Nurse (RN), including correct interpretations and interval measurements at required intervals and with any significant rhythm change.
- Maintains current monitored patients in the system; confers with nursing staff to determine correct validation counts and alarm parameters.
- Reports alarms and rhythm changes to RN staff.
- Greets, screens, and processes incoming unit/department calls, patients, visitors, and messages.
- Transcribes physician orders, enters tests, and treatment requests into the system.
- Assembles and maintains patient medical records, including posting of results.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an EKG class.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
Candidates must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment health screening, including a drug screen. Tenet complies with federal, state, and local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. Proof of full vaccination or an approved exemption is required prior to the start date.
Pay
$16.55 - $24.83 hourly. Individual wages are determined based on qualifications and experience.
