Monitor Tech

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager or the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Vocation Nurse, the Monitor Technician provides continual telemetry monitoring, as well as a variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to the adolescent, adult and geriatric patients requiring admission to the Unit.

The Monitor Technician is responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse in providing high-quality patient care activities as delegated by and under the supervision of the registered professional nurse pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. The Monitor Technician will appropriately communicate with physicians, co-workers, volunteers, other hospital departments, and patient family members.

Qualifications

• BLS for Health Care Providers
• Certified as telemetry technician by recognized program or the organization identified equivalent
• Certification assessment of rhythm interpretation skills required prior to monitoring patients without supervision of licensed staff
