About the role

The Monitor Technician is skilled in reading and interpreting cardiac monitors and arrhythmias. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for clerical support on the patient care unit.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate order entry transmission of physician’s orders to ancillary departments.
• Works under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately and timely transcribes all orders from the chart to order entry in Imed including CCU orders and DOU emergency orders.
• Utilizes computer skills for accurate unit census and order entry, and maintains all log books, (i.e. census, telemetry, consults).

Requirements

• Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course and pass dysrhythmia test.
• Monitor Technician experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
