Molding Technician II

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Captures mold and shop order scheduling requirements with Planning.
• Monitors Mold 24i data to track mold availability status on all injection-molding machines.
• References on-line material safety data sheet (MSDS) information when using lubricants and cleaners.
• Cleans, inspects, and sets up production mold bases and appropriate components.
• Creates Fault Reports on molds that require repair and/or modifications.
• Uses appropriate company supplied equipment when removing and installing molds into the injection molding machines.
• Continuously communicates with Engineering, Materials/Manufacturing Manager, and Process Technicians to inform them of any potential impact to schedule due to mold issues.
• Uses appropriate hand tools & torque wrenches to assemble molds.
• Ensures the immediate work area is clean, well-organized, and free from potential safety hazards.
• All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Capable of operating autonomously under all circumstances.
• Able to accurately read basic mechanical drawings.
• Proficient in using standard measuring equipment (micrometers, gage pins, scales).
• Proficient in use of normal hand tools and torque wrenches.
• Interface with Engineering/Tool Room regarding mold base, and/or mold component improvement and/or repairs.
• Mechanical aptitude and abilities.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and technical procedures.
• Basic math skills and great analytical skills.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Associates Degree or technical school or equivalent experience.
• 1 year experience in setup or mold making.
• Prior experience working with ERP systems.
