Molding Technical Operator, 7am - 7pm

About the role

This position will be a hybrid operator role trained to perform basic machine restarts on injection molding and/or CNC machining cells. Responsibilities include hourly monitoring and updating of Production Graphs, conducting regular visual inspections on produced parts, and assisting both operators and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines to produce products following manufacturing process instructions
• Restart machines that have stopped for predetermined reasons deemed as basic restarts
• Complete Production Graphs on machines being operated and report findings as required
• Perform thorough visual inspections each hour on machines producing parts
• Serve as a resource to assist operators with handling and counting of scrap, taping cartons, etc.
• Organize workstations and assist with sustaining organization
• Supply material to the workstations as needed
• Assist with moving completed product from workstations as needed
• Utilize computer skills including Google Docs, email, and other programs as needed
• Support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives within the facility
• Assist in the training of others as needed
• Clean and organize department as needed
• Work in other departments as needed
• Other work as directed

Qualifications

• Must be able to balance time well, adapting to changing conditions throughout the shift
• Solid communication skills required for interactions with press operators, technicians, supervisors, and managers
• Required Training: Universal Turtle Lake Requirements; additional training provided on the job as needed
• Required Testing: Successful completion of Injection Molding Phase 1 & 2 training

Physical Requirements

• Standing: 95% maximum to 10% minimum
• Sitting: 75% maximum to 10% minimum
• Walking: 75% maximum to 50% minimum
• Bimanual dexterity for grasping tools and equipment
• Visual inspection for dimensional defects
• Lifting: maximum of 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds assisted; maximum lifting distance from floor to table height
• Occasional twisting to 90 degrees
• Moving pallets of parts with pallet jack

Working Environment

Some noise; hearing protection required in posted areas. Temperature may vary depending on the time of year.
