Primary Responsibilities
- Operate machines to produce products, following manufacturing process instructions
- Restart machines which have stopped for predetermined reasons deemed as basic restarts
- Complete Production Graphs on machines being operated and report findings as required
- Perform thorough visual inspections each hour on machines producing parts
- Serve as a resource to assist operators with the handling and counting of scrap, taping cartons, etc
- Organize workstations and assist with sustaining organization
- Supply material to the work stations as needed
- Absorb completed products from workstations as needed
- Utilize computer skills including Google Docs, email, and other programs as needed
- Support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives within the facility
- Assist in the training of others as needed
Secondary Responsibilities
- Clean and organize department as needed
- Work in other departments as needed
- Other work as directed
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Must be able to balance time well, adapting to changing conditions throughout the shift
- Solid communication skills are required for communications with press operators, technicians, supervisors and managers
Physical Requirements
- Standing: 95% maximum to 10% minimum
- Sitting 75% maximum to 10% minimum
- Walking 75% maximum to 50% minimum
- Bimanual dexterity for grasping of tools and equipment
- Visual inspection for dimensional defects
- Lifting maximum of 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds assisted
- Maximum lifting distance from floor to table height
- Occasional twisting to 90 degrees
- Moving pallets of parts with a pallet jack
Working Environment
- Some noise. Hearing protection needed in posted areas
- Sometimes hot or cold depending on the time of year
Tool and Equipment Requirements
- Safety glasses where required and safety toed footwear
