Molding Process Technician
About the Role
This position involves learning and teaching machinery safety, operation, set-up, and shut-down, as well as ancillary functions in the molding department. The role requires leading a team to follow specific manufacturing procedures, setting daily production goals, training team members on various tasks, and identifying areas for improvement. Responsibilities
- Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain production within quality standards.
- Oversee all aspects of production machines, including efficiency and downtime.
- Implement company policies such as Good Manufacturing Practices and safety regulations.
- Direct and train production and technical team members.
- Foster ongoing team development and a positive team environment.
- Assist with corrective actions and related documentation.
- Prepare schedules for production and technical team members.
- Maintain department housekeeping standards.
- Determine and coordinate internal and external assistance for the department as needed.
- Organize line staff to execute daily work orders with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Perform general cleaning duties, including emptying trash, cleaning work areas and equipment, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down areas.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Three to five years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
- One year of experience in an Injection Molding and/or Extrusion environment strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and other departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office strongly preferred.
- Ability to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift while meeting production goals.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Coursework in Manufacturing and/or Machine Technology preferred.
- Ability to write legibly, read, write, and speak English, and perform basic math functions.
Pay
Pay range for this opportunity is $22.68 - $29.35 per hour. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums if higher than the listed range. Pay rates are determined by factors including local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, and foreign language fluency.
