Molding Process Technician
About the Role
The Molding Process Technician plays a key role in keeping production running safely, efficiently, and with a strong focus on quality. This position supports the full molding process by setting up equipment, troubleshooting process issues, and helping ensure the consistent production of high-quality molded parts. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and motivated to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement are priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all plant safety and ISO/TS 16949 & ISO 14001 regulations and procedures
- Set up Material Feed Systems and Mold Tools according to specifications
- Configure and program Hot Runner Panels, Injection Presses, and Valve Gate Units
- Set up De-Gaters, End of Arm Tooling, and associated work cell equipment
- Verify and release conforming parts at production startup
- Troubleshoot and resolve process issues to ensure the production of high-quality molded parts
- Collaborate with engineering on tool trials and initiatives to minimize scrap
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Execute additional tasks as directed
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing setting
- Prior experience in a molding area preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply documentation for the setup of various molding equipment, including material feed systems, mold tools, hot runners, valve gate units, de-gaters, and work cell machines
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Competent in the use of precision measurement tools (pyrometers, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Ability to utilize common sense and reasoning to understand and follow instructions and resolve routine problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the IM molding Process
- Experience as an IM Die Setter
