About the Role

The Mold Operator/Inspector is responsible for producing machined parts by operating a Molding machine and inspecting the product to determine if it meets quality specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Operate injection molding machine
  • Operate blending machine and combine raw pellets together
  • Work from drawings, blueprints, sketches, verbal or written instructions, work orders, and process sheets
  • Report defective materials, scrap, quality problems, or any other unusual condition or circumstance to a technician and/or supervisor immediately
  • Fill machine hoppers
  • Maintain personal production and quality standards as determined by supervision
  • Maintain records and other pertinent data as instructed or required
  • Ensure product quality by inspecting work for conformity to specifications and quality standards before, during, and after completion
  • Inspect products for surface defects and flaws
  • Position and secure threaded cores and/or overmolds into mold
  • Follow established procedures as well as quality and safety standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Versatility required to perform many and varied assembly and soldering operations manually
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers preferred

Additional Characteristics

  • Work as both an individual and in a team environment
  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time, up to 8-10 hours per day
  • Requires the ability to lift 25-55 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently
  • May be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals and oils

Pay

Salary range: $35,000 – $45,000 USD per year (hourly). The actual salary offered will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, market/business considerations, and geographic location.
