Molding Maintenance I- 2nd shift

About the Role

Molding Maintenance supports Molding Operations by maintaining molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair all injection molding machines and molding auxiliary equipment.
• Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
• Set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate operations.
• Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
• Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
• Safely perform tasks to ensure safety of all employees.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines and document as called out in the procedures.
• Assist in training of Molding Maintenance II worker(s).
• Install and set-up equipment.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Hydraulics, or HVAC.
• 2 – 3 years’ Molding Maintenance experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate of training in hydraulics, electrical, and electronics.

Physical Requirements

General Conditions

• Shift: 8 to 10 hours a day.
• Breaks: 30-minute lunch, two 10-minute breaks.
• Flooring: cement.
• Lighting: indoor.
• Temperature: controlled but works around hot temperatures (600 degrees).

Safety Equipment

• Safety glasses.
• Heat-resistant gloves.
• Ear protection.

Material Handling

• Infrequent (1-2X/Hr): Floor to Waist 30 – 40 lbs.
• Occasional (3-12X/Hr): Waist to Shoulder 40 – 50 lbs.
• Frequent (13-30X/Hr): Shoulder to Overhead 10 – 15 lbs.
• Constant (30+X/Hr): Carry (2-man lift of 160 pounds rare).
• Push/Pull: 20 pounds of force to twist/turn.

Positional Requirements

• Standing/Walking: frequent to constant.
• Sitting: rare.
• Climb/Balance: frequent climbing on and off machines.
• Neck/Trunk: frequent bending and twisting at waist; awkward positioning; frequent forward flexion of neck with turning and twisting of neck.
• Upper Extremities: constant reaching, handling, and use of fine motor finger movements; frequent to constant wrist turning and twisting.
• Lower Extremities: frequent crawling, kneeling, and climbing.

Tools and Equipment

• Power tools, vibrating tools, hand tools, electrical tools, air tools, forklift, tool box with rollers.

Physical Duties

• Perform hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical operations.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines.
• Pull parts and change oil on machines.
• Use forklift to move large pieces of equipment.
• Perform electrical wiring on machines.
• Maintain water station by changing pump (250 lbs) twice per year.
